Privacy · What we hold and why

What we collect, and what we refuse to.

This site sets no cookies and runs no analytics. What follows is the specific list of what we store, where it sits, and who else can see it.

The short version

This site sets no cookies. It runs no analytics. Nothing on the page is loaded from another company's servers, not even the fonts. The only information we hold about you is what you typed into a form and chose to send us.

arxtv.com is published by Arx Media Inc. When this policy says we, that is the company it means, and that is who holds what you send.

What we collect, and when

Two forms on this site collect anything at all. Nothing else on the site records you.

When you join the dispatch list, we store the email address you enter, the date and time, and the IP address the request came from.

When you send us a message, we store the message, the email address you give, your name if you choose to give one, the date and time, and the IP address the request came from.

We keep the IP address alongside the entry as a record of where the submission came from. We also write a short-lived file keyed to your IP address so the forms can be rate limited and not flooded. That file holds nothing but a timestamp.

Why we collect it

The dispatch list exists to tell you when we have published something worth your time, and nothing else. The contact form exists so a person can read what you wrote and reply to you. That is the whole purpose. We do not build profiles, score you, or feed any of it into advertising.

Where it is kept

On our own server, in files that sit outside the public web directory and cannot be requested from the internet. The files are readable only by the web process and by the people who run ARX TV.

Who else touches it

We want to be specific rather than vague here, because "trusted partners" is how most policies avoid answering this.

  • Our server is hosted by GoDaddy. They operate the machine the files sit on.
  • The notification email we send ourselves when you use a form is relayed through GoDaddy's mail service, so the contents of that notification pass through their systems.
  • Email to arxtv.com addresses is hosted by Google Workspace, so a message you send us ends up in a Google-hosted mailbox.

Nobody else. We do not sell, rent, or share what you give us, and we do not send it to any advertising or analytics company, because we do not use any.

What this site does not do

  • No cookies of any kind, so there is no cookie banner to dismiss.
  • No analytics, no page-view tracking, no session recording, no heatmaps.
  • No advertising, no ad networks, no retargeting pixels.
  • No third-party fonts, scripts, or embeds. The fonts are served from our own server precisely so your browser never has to tell anyone else you were here.
  • No tracking of you across other websites.

How long we keep it

We have not set a fixed deletion schedule yet. Today we keep the dispatch list until you ask to come off it, and we keep messages for as long as we need them to answer you and to keep a record of what was said. When we set a firm retention period, this page will say what it is and when it changed.

We would rather name that gap than paper over it. A standards page is worth nothing if the privacy page quietly overstates.

Your choices

Write to us through the contact form and ask to see what we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it. We will not make you explain why. If you ask to be removed from the dispatch list, you come off it and your entry is deleted rather than flagged.

Children

This site is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has sent us something, tell us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

If this changes, we change the date at the top of this page and say what moved. We will not quietly edit it and hope nobody noticed.
